Marina Bay Sands

Stepped around to Marina Bay Sands for a short while yesterday from Marina Square across the Helix bridge.  Very nice view of MBS is to be had - lots of people snapping shots away.  Some even brought out their tripods.  I was rushed for time, so I only used my LX3 to snap these shots.

Stepping into The Shoppes was an experience I'm unlikely to forget, seeing that I'm still showing the symptoms even now.  There's a lot of shops still not open yet (at least in the wing nearest to the bridge) and all that dust and smell started me sneezing and having a running nose.  It was absolutely terrible.

That said, The Shoppes is huge.  As in, lots of open space.  I wonder how much electricity goes into air-conditioning the place, seeing that the ceiling is so high up.

I mustered enough endurance to walk to the sampan ride area, which was quite interesting to behold, though the ride itself is very short.

And then it was almost time for the performance of The Three Belles.  We quite liked it.  Its hard to describe the performance, and I really wanted to upload a short video of it, but somehow StarHub has this feature that tries to limit my internet usage on weekends (especially).  Repeated attempts to upload to YouTube failed for a 40MB file.  Might be time to change a service provider, seeing that my 2 year contract is expiring soon.

I hope to catch their performance at least one more time before it ends on 28 Dec.

And then it was high time to get out of MBS, as my nose couldn't take it any more.  Too bad - we were thinking of having dinner there, but the environment just wasn't conducive enough.  More pics below!
