I've been looking for a free video editor (NLE for those who like acronyms) because the new Microsoft Movie Maker doesn't cut it anymore. They removed the timeline for heaven's sake! I mean who in their right minds would do such an incredibly ridiculous thing! I can understand the need to cater for the casual audience but at least have an advanced mode where the timeline is still there.
Anyway, my prayers may be answered as Lightworks will be going Open Source soon. It should be going through beta testing any time now and hopefully will be released to the public soon. If you haven't done so, go register your interest on their site. From what I've read it seems toe a solid piece of software if they put in everything they promised to - with no game breaking bugs of course.
Here's keeping my fingers crossed.
Sounds cool! Trying it out now.. It's not very intuitive though, it's more for serious users or professionals.. Maybe I'm just sleepy..
ReplyDeleteSigh, I gave it another try but it seems that Lightworks keep confounding me. Tried importing an MP3 but the audio screws up. I think I won't be using this for a while until the major bugs have been resolved. Well, if you need something, better get it from what's available in the market than pray that something better will arrive in the near future.
