I first watch the show in Jun 2009 and was highly impressed by it. I could still remember feeling the heat from the balls of fire, so near the waters we were. When the Fire "Spirit" rose from the water, I couldn't fathom how they managed to hide such huge steelworks beneath the waters. I just didn't notice anything out of the ordinary walking around in the daytime. We watched the show near Cafe Portofino, and I was trying to see if we could get seats at the balcony of the cafe before the show started. We managed to grab a bench at the corner of the balcony, but decided it was too far away to have a proper viewing.
The second time we watched the show was in June this year, and we watched the show from the bridge, sharing the view with another Japanese family who were kind enough to let us have some space. This time the vantage point was much better though, and we really enjoyed the show, knowing that its probably one of the last times before the show ended.
Swept Away, the post-show track, is such a captivating song. A feeling of melancholy as the crowd slowly disperse. The stillness of the behemoth "spirits". Appreciative murmurs of the audience.
